Has anyone here worked with stainless steel thrust bearing castings? I could do with some tips or advice.

I've worked with them quite a bit. Top grade stainless steel can be a solid choice for reducing friction.

Agreed. Also, you might want to get a primer on the casting process if you're new to it. It can be pretty technical.

Thanks for the tips! I'm not entirely new, but some things still stump me. For instance, any particular type of stainless steel I should go for?

316 stainless is fairly popular. It has good resistance to heat and wear, as well as the added benefit of corrosion resistance.

Don't forget about the lubrication as well. Certain types of lubricant can extend the life of your bearings significantly.
