cast Iron Grates vs Stainless Steel Grates Which One is for You?
#1
Hi! I'm thinking of buying a new grill. Any advice on whether to get one with cast iron grates or stainless steel grates? What are the pros and cons of each?

In my experience, cast iron grates retain heat better than stainless steel, which can give you those really nice grill marks. But they can be a bit of a pain to maintain because they're prone to rust.

I've used both, but I actually prefer stainless steel grates. They're much easier to clean and don't require as much maintenance as cast iron grates do.

It depends on your specific needs too. If you grill frequently, cast iron may be more suitable due to its heat retention properties. For occasional grilling, stainless steel grates could be more convenient.
