I've had mine for about a year now, and I haven't noticed any significant scratches or tarnishing on the stainless steel. Of course, I try to take care of it and avoid any rough handling, but overall, it's held up really well. I think as long as you're mindful of how you treat it, durability shouldn't be a major concern.
