I'm working on a project and it requires flat springs. I've been told that stainless steel is the best material but could use some guidance.
I would suggest using Aisi 301 Stainless Steel. It's been the standard grade for flat spring usage for decades.
Isn't that one known for being hard to work with compared to other grades, though?
True, but its strength and corrosion resistance make it worth the extra effort.
I'd say do a little research first and see what grade best suits your specific needs.
