I've been suggested 306 stainless steel for my casting project. What is unique about this type?
It's a great option for casting due to its strong resistance to heat and corrosion. Also, its aesthetics are quite good.
It's slightly less resistant to corrosion and heat than 316, but it's still a strong choice.
Worth noting that it's weaker to pitting corrosion in some environments. You may want to look into duplex stainless steels if this is a concern.
