I would say start with cleaning. Ensure that the heater is off and cooled down. Use soft cloth and a stainless-steel cleaner to wipe its surface.

Don't ignore the reflector! It can accumulate dust and soot which influences heater's performance.

Couldn't agree more and. Additionally, buy a cover for it. It should help protect it from elements when it is not in use.
