I've been trying my hands on stainless steel bore brush casting lately, but it's been a bit of a hustle. Anyone here with experience who can guide?
I find the best method to be preheating the mold to roughly 650 degrees Fahrenheit before casting. It helps the steel to flow better.
is right. I also use a special flux to remove any remaining oxidization from the bore brush before casting.
That's helpful, guys. But how can you tell the right temperature? I mean, I don't want to cause any distortion.
You're right,. Too high can do harm. You can use an infrared thermometer to closely monitor your mold's temperature during heat up. -
